Hi, I’m Chrystall

I’ll be brave and go first.

I’m a second-year graduate student at the Walter Cronkite School on the Downtown ASU campus. My main focus at school is Web journalism — first with the Cronkite Zine and then with the News21 project. This semester most of my coursework is reporting for Cronkite News Service, where I cover water, the environment and parks. I’m also the TA for two freshmen classes at the Cronkite School: three profs, a dozen or so guest speakers, and about 250 students keep me very busy this semester.

Before I started at ASU, I lived in the San Diego area, but I was born and raised in Long Beach, Calif. I’ve worked as reporter for a community weekly, and was a burger jockey for 9 years. I went to CSU San Marcos for my undergrad (communication) and Palomar Community College before that.

When not working on ASU-related things, I’m usually hanging out in Downtown Phoenix with my classmates and neighbors, talking to family and friends back in California, or thinking about what I’m going to do after graduation this May.
