So… My name is Rebekah K Zemansky. As a kid, I lived all over (Seattle, Chicago, Fairbanks, Maryland) for the first five years. Then my family moved to Lawrence, KS where I went to school through an undergrad in Political Science and International Studies. My focus was Africa and the Middle East and, unofficially, microdevelopment (one of my favorite examples is Kiva). I moved to Phoenix in July for grad school.

I’ve loved travel and writing all my life, and I love chances to combine the two. New sights, sounds, smells, and sometimes tastes make great experiences, stories, and photos. Journalism’s challenges have been exciting so far, and I’m really looking forward do trying out what I’m learning.

(Also, as part of the Cronkite School’s program we start our own blogs, so I’ve been using mine for travel here – I’ll definitely be using the trip for material!)
